At least not in the full sense of the word.
President Trump took brutal swipes at several political antagonists during his State of the Union address.
But the one that had the most Americans cheering was aimed squarely at the NFL players who all season childishly disrespected the Flag during their pre-game National Anthems.
In one of the more touching stories of the night, Trump honored a young California boy by the name of Preston Sharp, who began a movement to place flags on the graves of fallen soldiers on Veterans Day.
As he closed out that portion of the speech, Trump stated, to wild applause:
“Preston’s reverence for those who have served our nation reminds us why we salute our flag, why we put our hands on our hearts for the Pledge of Allegiance, and why we proudly stand for the national anthem.“
Real Americans stand for the National Anthem. Real Americans love this country so much they’d never disrespect it as leverage for any cause.
We couldn’t agree more with Trump on this point.
